The Creek 03:35
My house far away from city noise My house far away from drinking girls and drunken boys My house far away from gigging bands My house far away from pretty couples with evening plans You`ll have to cross the creek to get there You`ll have to cross the creek to get there Ref: So Rest your eyes on the water water flowing by Rest your eyes on the water as a natural high My house far away from crowded stores My house far away from city bikes and shopping malls My house Far away from galleries My house Far away from boats to take you overseas You`ll have to cross the creek to get there You`ll have to cross the creek to get there Ref: So Rest your eyes on the water water flowing by Rest your eyes on the water as a natural high

Hope 04:08
All the powers we posess Make us proud and we forget That we caused this awful mess Someday someone will regret There are many ways to say That our future will be bright Listen to us sing and play Surely you will get it right ref: Give the children hope for the future Hope for the future Give the children hope for the future Hope for the future Put a smile upon your face Kids will always love to do certainly in meny ways more or less the same as you Give them art and poetry teach them to shut out the noise music and philosophy girls to women, men from boys ref. All he feathers of the birds they would form a giant plane that would take us up to where clouds are turning into rain Flowers by my garden shed bringin colour to my days some are yellow, some are red all reflecting in your face

I`d like to row your boat she said please let me row your boat I`d love to row your boat she said please let me row your boat Hand me the oars such a lovely morning Water so still sun about to rise Give me the oars such a lovely feeling You know the drill when something in me dies ref: so let`s go somewhere honey let`s go nowhere let`s see what happens on our way there When it`s you and me on the open sea Let`s see what happens what it can be I`d like to sail your boat she said please let me sail your boat I`d love to sail your boat she said please let me sail your boat Hand me the rudder such a lovely evening That southern breeze will treat us so kind Give me the rudder such a lovely feeling we`ll go with ease and leave all this behind ref: so let`s go somewhere honey let`s go nowhere let`s see what happens on our way there When it`s you and me on the open sea Let`s see what happens what it can be

I agree with you I agree with you We don`t care about the music they are listening to I agree with you You agree with me We don`t care about the movie they`ve all gone to see So we would never argue never put up a fight sitting by the river Watching the day turn to night never wrong but always right as long as we are sitting here the others drive around but we don`t care oooh ooooh

Here is my piano Here`s my cosy bed Paintings on the wall and a yellow garden shed When you hear me playing songs of black and white I know someone's out there in the night When you come to see me I'll be glad youŕe here I'll have the piano you can have a beer We know someone's out there but we don't make a fuzz and they don't really care about us The Wild Animals The wolf and the deer The Wild animals sleep under open air They are never sleeping Not like you and me Always looking out for things they cannot see Here is my piano Here's my cosy bed And a pile of books that I have never read The Wild Animals The wolf and the deer The Wild animals sleep under open air The Wild Animals The birds and the bear The Wild animals sleep under open air

about

Music and lyrics by Sverre Thorstensen.

This is the first album from the Norwegian band "Åre". The band consists of multi musician "Kong" Sverre Thorstensen and singer Kine Hjeldnes. Sverre has earlier released 4 albums under the name KongSverre, and Kine has released to lovely EP`s in her own name. They met as Sverre bought a synthesizer from Kine, and started almost immediately to work together. Quite different from the electronic soundscapes they both were familiar with, they ended up with a totally acoustic record.

Most of the songs are about water one way ore another. But hey, all your life is about water one way or another.

Recorded in Rommet mitt på Bjølsen and Kruttrøyk studios. Mixed at Roger Sunshine Studios.

Recording engineers: Anders Aarum and Sverre Thorstensen.

Mixing engineer: Sverre Thorstensen
